Walker 2 Month Update!

Well, I’m almost a week late but better late than never, right?  Smile  Walker is 13lbs 4oz, and at his 2mo check up he was 22 1/2 inches long.  He fits comfortably in a 3 month outfit and in some he can wear a 3-6mo.  He’s still in a size 2 diaper, although sometimes they feel snug.
DSC_0162
He HAS been sleeping better!  He actually had one night where he slept through the night.  It was glorious!  He hasn’t done that again, but it was nice when it happened!
DSC_0118
He is acting like he might be trying to stretch out his feedings just a little.  Yesterday he went 3 hours before eating one time and the day before he went 4 hours one time.  His nighttime feedings are definitely stretched out more, but I can’t tell you how far because I don’t look at the clock anymore.  I’m too tired.  Ha!
DSC_0168
He’s a sweet baby.  He loves his mommy, his sisters (he thinks they’re funny), his paci most of the time, his swing, his blanket, nursing, and his mobile.
DSC_0109
He hates his bath, getting his diaper changed, and a cold wipe.
He’s seriously the sweetest baby.  I love him so much and he really is a great addition to our family!  We love you, Walker!

Caroline–2 1/2 Years

So, I haven’t done a Caroline update in forever.  The girl changes SO much just from one week to another.  I don’t want to forget some of the cute things that she does and says…and that’s what blogs are for, right?

Caroline, you love:

  • Being tickled, water, llama llama books, reading in general, Dora, Umizoomi, anything with princesses, cars, Power Wheels Jeep, fruit snacks (“Dora Snacks”), Yo Gabba Gabba, being outside, balls, swinging, jumping (trampoline, bounce house, or just hopping across the floor!), bananas, peanut butter crackers (“quackers”), feeding the ducks, Duke & Sassy, pizza, Jello (“yeahno”), paci (it’s a curse nowadays.), Angry Birds (“birds”), blankie, the iPad, music, dancing, being naked (ha!), making Amelia laugh, giving hugs, fruit loops (“fruit froops”), talking to anyone who will listen, m&ms, daddy coming home from work, mommy coming home from town, baths, cake, & riding in a shopping cart.

Feeding the Ducks 001

You dislike:

Going night night, getting ready for bed, brushing your teeth (sensing a trend here…), mommy leaving, having to come inside from playing, having to hold someone’s hand to cross the street, frogs (you cry and run away), Amelia screaming (you tell her “No, no Mia.  Stop crying!”), getting in the car, having your hair rinsed after washing, having dirty hands, and getting in trouble…it hurts your feelings so badly.

You are so funny!  You have such a mind of your own.  You always tell me in the car when we go to the bank or a drive thru, “I wanna say hey!” so I have to roll down your window so you can yell “hey!” to the person outside.  Especially at the bank because you want a sucker!

DSC_0740

You tell me you love me everyday.  I melt every time.  My favorite is when I say it first and you say, “I love you toosies!”  I have no idea where toosies came from but it is so cute!

You love to sing Twinkle Twinkle, Jesus Loves Me, Sing & Be Happy, and anything by the Fresh Beat Band.

Turn your volume up…she starts out quiet but gets louder!

We’re working on the “yes ma’am” thing and you crack me up.  Today you asked if I wanted to put my shoes on and I told you no.  You said, “Mommy, say “no ma’am”  so I did and you said, “Thank you.”  Ha!

You avoid bedtime/naptime like the plague.  You now come up with 1000 excuses why you don’t need to go to bed.  You need some “quackers” or some water or you claim you’ll go poop in the potty.  Speaking of potty training – we’re slowly working on it.  I’m not really totally pushing it, but you’re making efforts to at least try.

You LOVE Amelia.  I seriously don’t know how you ever did without her.  You two play all day long together.  You play together SO WELL.  I’m so fortunate with that.  You do steal toys and snacks from her fairly often but you always give them back.  When she cries, you go get her blankie.  You ask her “What’sa matter, Mia?” when she’s upset.  And you always ask about her when you can’t find her.

You are the cutest thing.  I just love to listen to you talk!  You have so much to say now.  I love giving you choices and hearing you make decisions.  I always ask you which drink you want and give you two options and you’ll say, “Ummmmmmmm……..water!”  (or juice or whatever.)  You ask to go outside and play with Duke & Sassy – which really means you want to get their food and feed them from your hands.  They love you, too!  You love when Daddy comes home from work.  I always announce when Daddy pulls in the driveway and say, “Daddy’s home!!” and you’ll come running through the house copying me and wait for him to give you a hug at the door.

caroline jeep

You’re really into princess stuff lately.  You got a dress-up princess book where you dress up the princesses in different clothes and you LOVE it.  Your Vtech iPad thingy has a princess game/story that you play all the time.  Cinderella is your favorite.  I think I might get the movie out sometime soon and see how much you’ll watch of it before you get bored.  Winking smile

You’ve started pulling up a stool or chair to help me cook.  You always want to stir and you really want to crack eggs…ha!

caroline reading

You’re terrified of frogs.  You didn’t get that from me.  I’m not scared of frogs….I don’t like them…but I’m not scared of them.  You, on the other hand, cry and scream and act like someone is torturing you.  I feel sorry for you, because I DO know how you feel.  The way you feel about frogs is how I feel about bugs.  We’re both in a horrible place for these phobias, sweet girl.

You are such a smart girl.  You know and can identify the alphabet (you know most of the lowercase and all uppercase letters) and most of your numbers.  You’ve started trying to count to 100 by 10’s.  Sometimes you get it and others you act like you’ve never done it in your life.  You know your shapes (circle, square, triangle, and rectangle) really well.  You point shapes out to me in random, everyday places.  I’m always so proud!  You can usually identify your name when written out, and most of the time you can get Amelia’s name, too.  I think most of that comes from your love of reading books.  You come sit in my lap everyday and want me to read books over and over…and we usually do!  Some of the Nick Jr. shows you watch are great about teaching stuff like that, too.

love

You’re great in church, most of the time.  You sit really quietly and play on the iPad or play with your princess book.  You still have a snack but you’re really quiet in general.  When we pray you stop what you’re doing and clasp your hands together – usually for the majority of the prayer (as long as it isn’t really long…ha!)  I love to see you do that.

You make me so proud.  I wanted to write this stuff down because I haven’t done it in a long time and I want to be able to come back and read all of this about you.  You’re such a big girl, already.  I wish time would stop!  You’re so independent.  You love doing things on your own and having us cheer for you.  You are so beautiful and you make my heart so happy!  I love you sweet girl.  You mean the world to me.  There’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you!

Amelia’s 1 Year Video (3 months late)

‘Cause that’s how I roll.  Late.  Always.  Smile

Deda, this is for you – because I know you watch them over and over.  I actually thought I had already put it on here and realized the other day that I hadn’t!  So, this is just for you!

Feeding the Ducks!

We went to the park today to do something different.  We had lunch at the picnic table and then fed the ducks some bread.  Caroline was so excited and talked about it the entire way there!  She has also talked about it all day long saying she wanted to go back and feed “MY DUCKS.”  Here’s a couple of pictures and a quick video from the duck feeding part!

Amelia generally hates being in the grass, so I brought the stroller for her and she munched on her chicken nuggets while we fed the ducks!

Guess who showed up after lunch to feed the ducks?!  DADDY!  He skipped eating his lunch so he could come feed the ducks with the girls.  There is one thing I know for certain – he LOVES spending time with his children…and that makes me so happy!

Hope you all had a fantastic day today!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Caroline!

My sweet girl, HOW are you two years old?  This year brought so many changes for you, physically & developmentally!  You weigh a solid 33lbs…above average for your age.  People always comment when they pick you that you don’t look like you’d be that heavy!  Your daddy has always said he has a heavy liver, maybe you take after him.  Winking smile
You got a sister at 15 months old and it rocked your world!  You suddenly went from the only attention hog to 1 out of 2 attention hogs!  Winking smile  You truly love her, though!  Now that she’s sitting up on her own you LOVE to sit down with her and play.  You two take baths together and you love teaching her to splash!DSC_0017
You used to eat anything we put in front of you – but now you are the pickiest eater I’ve ever seen.  You love:  bananas, apples, froot loops, goldfish crackers, gummi snacks, chicken nuggets, french fries (“fwies!”) salmon patties, pancakes, biscuits, pizza, cookies, and sometimes you’ll eat a grilled cheese.  That’s about the extent to what you’ll eat.  Bread is your favorite…you get that from your mama!
DSC_0061
You have really gotten into pretend play and I love watching you!  You “cook” on your kitchen and make me meals.  You’ll stir a spoon around on an empty plate then feed me (or Amelia!) a bite.  You grab my hand at all points in the day and say, “Pway?” and you’ll drag me into the playroom and proceed to cook for me.  I love it.  Your favorite toys are:  Dancing Mickey, fridge alphabet & farm, kitchen, tent, shopping cart, Vtech laptop, bounce house, learning train, balls of any kind, & color wonder.
  DSC_0040
You know your ABC’s and can count to 10.  Not only can you SAY your ABC’s, but you can identify the letters!  You know all the uppercase letters and most of the lowercase letters.  You’re so smart!
You are talking up a STORM.  You always have something to say – and sometimes it’s all jibberish!  Your vocabulary has grown exponentially this last month.  You know so many sentences!  Your most common phrases are:  “Hey Mama (or other name!)” “Whatchadoin?”  “Let’s read!” “Mia’s crying? (HA!)” “I sowwy Mama”  “You okay?”  “A drinkawater!”  “Some milk, pwease!”  & “Where paci?”  You love to pretend to talk on the phone.  You’ll put my cellphone up to your ear and say, “Hey ___!  Whatchadoin?  Oh, okay.  Bye!”  Apparently you’ve heard me talk on the phone a few too many times.
  DSC_0065
You’re able to understand way more than you can say.  You follow commands very well!
Reading is your favorite pastime.  You could read for hours!  Your favorite books are:  Llama Llama Red Pajama, If You Give a Pig a Party (which you call “Pigaparty!”),  Silly Sally, Wherever You Are, Goodnight Moon, The Giving Tree (which you call “Tree!”), & On the Night You Were Born.
You do love to watch television!  Sometimes I have to cut it off and tell you no more tv for the day because you would sit in front of it all day if we let you.  You love to watch:  Veggie Tales, Elmo, Olivia, Yo Gabba Gabba (which I can’t stand!), & Ni Hao Kai Lan.
You would LIVE outside if we would let you.  You can walk around the yard and play for hours without ever really doing anything.  You do love to swing and ride your power Jeep!  Playing with rocks from the driveway also keeps you entertained for a long time.  You love Duke & Sassy!  You crack me up with them.  Sometimes you try to make them lick you and other times you can’t stand it if they mess with you!
Every night before bed you say “PRAY!” and fold your hands together and smile so big.  It melts my heart.  We then pray for everyone you’ve ever met…ha!  We thank God for all those people and thank him for Jesus.  Then when I say “Amen,” you basically scream, “AYMEEEEN!”  You’ve also taken to screaming that out in church when someone leads a prayer.  We’ve started covering your mouth at the end of prayers because you scream it so loudly.
You are such a joy in our lives.  It blows my mind that you are two years old.  It just doesn’t seem right!  I love you more than I know how to describe.  My heart just swells with pride.  You are such a sweet, tender little girl.  I can’t wait to see the wonderful young lady you will grow into…but until then…slow down a little and stop getting so big!  You’ll always be my baby.  I love you.
Love,
Mama

Amelia Laughing Video

Please excuse the crazy person that came into my house, grabbed my camera, and videoed my child laughing.  It definitely wasn’t me.  I don’t sound like this crazy woman in this video.
Also, please excuse my daughter’s avacado face.  Apparently that crazy woman didn’t know how to make the spoon actually get into my daughter’s mouth.  Once you’ve excused these things, feel free to watch the video!  Smile

E-I-E-I......O

Sorry the video is such poor quality! I shot it with my phone! The first time she says "ah-oh" which is a huge favorite. The second time she gets it right! Please forgive the voice of the crazy woman singing to her. :)

New Internet is Here!

Is this important enough to warrant its own post? Why yes, yes it is! We are no longer living in slow, download limit internet land, my friends! Why does this matter to you? Well it matters because now I can BLOG again! Finally! With pictures and videos again!

Caroline is doing SO much now. Can't wait to do her 11 month post (late...in typical Kacie style - just in time for her 1 year birthday!) and update all of you on how much she's changed! (Yes, she's totally walking!)

Quick pregnancy update: everything is going great! Baby Amelia is doing lots of moving around and I love to feel it. Sometimes it's strong enough to be felt from the outside but most of her movements are just between the two of us for now. :)

Seriously y'all...I have to go watch some youtube videos or watch a movie instantly on Netflix or something. I can't believe how fast something downloads! I'll leave you with a video from vacation of her first time in the swimming pool....just because I can!!

Belly Laughs!

You might need your motion sickness bands on. Ha! It was too hard to hold my arm still but move my face forward to make her laugh! She's so happy! I LOVE her belly laughs!

Back by Popular Demand...

I now present to you, a crawling video starring Caroline Davis!

We're pretty sure she's cutting a tooth...so she's not in the best mood. But she definitely crawled! She can go even faster on carpet!

6 Months Old! (Pics & Videos!)

Sweet girl,

It amazes me how you're already half a year old. It seems like just yesterday we were rushing to the hospital and anticipating you coming into the world in just a few hours. However, I can't really remember life without you! I would never in a million years choose to go back to life without you! You are such a joy!

You're doing so many new things now! You constantly say "Da da da da" and we love it! You'll even whisper it! So cute! You're eating lots of baby food now and sweet potatoes are definitely your favorite! I attempted to give you a Gerber "Puff" yesterday and you were not a fan. We'll try again later!

You're sitting up all on your own now! You rarely fall anymore! We're so impressed because you can now go from a crawling position to sitting up all on your own!

To say you want to roll is an understatement! You have a NEED to roll! You always want to be on your stomach. Changing your diaper has become a battle! Changing your clothes is even harder! Taking your picture in the chair is nearly impossible!

You are so happy and smile all the time. I live for your smiles. It doesn't matter how frustrated I am, all you have to do is smile at me and I melt.

Girl, you are so pudgy! I love love love your leg rolls! You have 3 on one leg, and 2 on the other! You're starting to use a sippy cup like a big girl and drink some water with your baby food. You open your mouth to eat on cue! You can spot your bottle from a mile away and do everything in your power to get it. Oakley has become your new favorite. You smile and laugh at him..and he's just standing there! I have to work to get that smile! So unfair!

We love you SO much and cannot imagine our lives without you. You definitely stole your Daddy's heart. He can't wait to get home to you at night. He works so hard for us! I hope you always know how much you mean to us. I can't wait for the next wonderful 6 months with you!!

Love,
Mommy

I've uploaded some videos that most people will find boring. But family will love them!

Sweetness!

My pretty girl! Dressed up for church!

"Mom, I'm serious! Stoooooop taking my picture! It's embarassing!"

I halfway caught her smile!

Like father, like daughter. Please note the position of sleep for these two. Mouth open, head back. :)

This is a video! Enjoy!

Caroline's Halloween pictures are coming soon! Stay tuned!
