Fun in the Snow

Well we’ve officially had more snow this year than we have in 10 years past.  HA!  We got about 5 inches or so yesterday and of course Judd had to take Caroline out to play in it!  So runny nose and all, outside we went.  She mainly thinks it’s fun to just walk around in it.  She doesn’t do anything except walk and make tracks, but she finds that fun!

Then she spotted the Barbie Jeep from across the yard…

She had a blast.  The wind was blowing pretty hard though and it was really cold wind so we couldn’t stay outside long.  My face actually got chapped!  It’s not a pretty sight!

In other news, Amelia is…..still screaming.  The kid just has issues, folks.  She is starting to wake up a lot more now.  I actually pulled out the camera during her bath last night (and she was CALM!!) and took some pictures!

I even caught a tiny little smile!  I took some more of her after we played in the snow this morning (she didn’t play in the snow, obviously.)

All in all, we’ve had a great day already!  Smile  I have some kind of exciting (to me at least) news that I’m hoping to share soon…and NO…I am NOT pregnant and we’re not moving.  Ha!  So now you can sit back and wonder what else it could be!!  Winking smile

Christmas in January!

I am still alive! We've become quite the busy household. And by busy, I mean lots of bouncing, swaying, back-patting, and shushing. If you haven't guessed yet, Amelia has colic. Oh my my. This girl is a screamer, folks. She has done better since I got a Moby wrap and started walking around with her in it. Around 9pm every night she begins crying, fussing, etc. and it lasts for a few hours. This week has been better than last week, though. Hopefully she'll work it all out soon.

Caroline is adjusting to Amelia quite well. She really likes to poke her, but hugging and kissing is fun too! Since my grandmother has gotten better, we were able to have our postponed Christmas this past weekend! We had so much fun. A HUGE thanks to Deda for leaving her tree up for 3 EXTRA WEEKS! Ha! I took a few pictures and actually took the time to upload them. Hope you appreciate the pictures!

As a total sidenote, I am so ready for Spring...except for the part where Judd starts working non-stop until November. Oh well. ;)

She was telling him something serious.

Mamaw's first time to see Amelia!!

Papaw with 2/3 of his granddaughters.

Grandparents with all 4 grandbabies!! A rare picture!

Isn't she sweet?!

She loves her buggy and baby!

Playing on the stairs with Deda. She LOVES those stairs.

Pop with some grandbabies!

Her pink chair. Can we say, LOVE?

My sweet girl!

Hope you all have a great week. Amelia is 6 weeks old now, so hopefully I'll start getting more blogging time soon! Thanks for sticking with me through my lull!

Mish Mash!

So there's so much to say in this post that I'm not sure where to start! I guess I'll start by saying that 2 kids is an entirely different ballgame!! I'm sure part of that is due to the fact that my kids are 15 1/2 months apart, but I have a feeling it's a difficult transition no matter the age gap. Caroline is still fairly "needy" and can't communicate everything she wants easily so we're dealing with a lot of communication difficulties such as, "No Caroline, you can't hit the baby" or "No Caroline, don't rub her face with the wet wipe" or "No Caroline, don't throw the boppy on top of her." See a trend? I think we may be entering the terrible two's a bit early. Does that mean that they end earlier? Ha!

Amelia is doing great. She's eating wonderfully. I was so nervous about breastfeeding this time since last time wasn't quite so wonderful. I had a lot of supply issues last time (I got the flu 2 weeks after C was born and my supply tanked and never fully recovered) and I was nervous the issues would repeat themselves. However, my supply is great and Amelia has overcome some of her preemie problems and is finally eating like a champ. If you tried breastfeeding your first child and for whatever reason it didn't work out - don't give up! Apparently you can have a totally different situation with your next child! We had problems in the beginning because she was SO SO SO sleepy. I would spend over an hour trying to wake her up to eat. It was miserable for a few days. But she finally started latching and eating and things have gotten much easier feeding-wise since then. I'm also much less "shy" about nursing this time. I actually nursed her in public the other day without a cover. I wouldn't normally do that, but I didn't have anything to cover myself with and my kid was hungry. Oh well!

Judd started back to work this week and it's been SO much different without him home to help. He was incredibly helpful with Caroline while he was home and I was able to get a lot more sleep. Now that he's back at work, I'm feeling really run down. I've also got a stupid head cold as of yesterday which certainly doesn't help much - but I'm surviving! I'm ready for Saturday so Judd will be home! Ha!

Amelia had her checkup two days ago and she's 7lbs 10oz! She's getting bigger everyday. We also had some newborn pictures taken when she was a week old by Jessica Rowell Photography. I'm SO happy with them!

Aren't they wonderful?! I'll add Amelia's birth story as soon as possible! I know you're all on pins and needles waiting for it, right? ;)

Have a wonderful day!

Amelia is Here!

Just thought I'd give a heads up to my blog friends that I'm not friends with on Facebook! She surprised us and arrived on our anniversary! We were only 35 weeks along but she's as healthy as can be!

Update!

I realized I hadn't updated in a while so I thought I'd give a quick update on what's going on! Judd has been off of work so we've really been enjoying our time together. It's been SO wonderful to have him home...for lots of reasons! He's been such a big help with Caroline when I'm exhausted or feeling particularly lazy...which happens a lot these days. I find myself totally worn out by about 3pm every single day. I could nap for several hours every day if I had the chance! Caroline is definitely coming into the toddler stage, which is probably why I'm so tired all the time. She's really starting to get mischievous! Today she had two crackers in her hand and I couldn't figure out where they came from. She had gone into the pantry, opened the box, opened the sealed cracker package, and confiscated two crackers for herself! Smart kid! She's really starting to talk and she understands even more than she can say! We're loving hearing her talk to us!

Amelia is doing great. She's incredibly active compared to pregnancy with Caroline. She moves alllll the time. I really love to put my hands on my belly and feel her feet slide across! Pregnancy is an amazing thing! My tailbone pain seems to be getting just a little better, which is a blessing. I'm 34 weeks today and next Wednesday will be my first day to get my cervix checked. I'm anxious to see how it compares with my pregnancy with Caroline. By 35 weeks with her I was already 3cm and 50% effaced. They say every pregnancy is totally different so I'm anxious to find out! At this point, I just want her to be healthy when she makes her way into this world. I feel a little more nervous everyday about having them 16 months apart - but I'm so thrilled that they'll never remember life without each other. Sappy, huh? :)

Our anniversary is also next Wednesday. Three years with the most wonderful, patient, funny, loving man that I know! No one else could make me feel as special as he does. He's such a hard working man with such an attentive heart. He is an absolute wonderful father. Caroline lights up when he comes in the room! Above all else, he is a Christian man and leads our family. I couldn't ask for more than that! I'm so honored that God chose me for him! I love you, Judd!

I guess I'll attempt a belly picture sometime soon...but I warn you - it's not a pretty sight! ;)
