Christmas in January!

I am still alive! We've become quite the busy household. And by busy, I mean lots of bouncing, swaying, back-patting, and shushing. If you haven't guessed yet, Amelia has colic. Oh my my. This girl is a screamer, folks. She has done better since I got a Moby wrap and started walking around with her in it. Around 9pm every night she begins crying, fussing, etc. and it lasts for a few hours. This week has been better than last week, though. Hopefully she'll work it all out soon.

Caroline is adjusting to Amelia quite well. She really likes to poke her, but hugging and kissing is fun too! Since my grandmother has gotten better, we were able to have our postponed Christmas this past weekend! We had so much fun. A HUGE thanks to Deda for leaving her tree up for 3 EXTRA WEEKS! Ha! I took a few pictures and actually took the time to upload them. Hope you appreciate the pictures!

As a total sidenote, I am so ready for Spring...except for the part where Judd starts working non-stop until November. Oh well. ;)

She was telling him something serious.

Mamaw's first time to see Amelia!!

Papaw with 2/3 of his granddaughters.

Grandparents with all 4 grandbabies!! A rare picture!

Isn't she sweet?!

She loves her buggy and baby!

Playing on the stairs with Deda. She LOVES those stairs.

Pop with some grandbabies!

Her pink chair. Can we say, LOVE?

My sweet girl!

Hope you all have a great week. Amelia is 6 weeks old now, so hopefully I'll start getting more blogging time soon! Thanks for sticking with me through my lull!

Mish Mash!

So there's so much to say in this post that I'm not sure where to start! I guess I'll start by saying that 2 kids is an entirely different ballgame!! I'm sure part of that is due to the fact that my kids are 15 1/2 months apart, but I have a feeling it's a difficult transition no matter the age gap. Caroline is still fairly "needy" and can't communicate everything she wants easily so we're dealing with a lot of communication difficulties such as, "No Caroline, you can't hit the baby" or "No Caroline, don't rub her face with the wet wipe" or "No Caroline, don't throw the boppy on top of her." See a trend? I think we may be entering the terrible two's a bit early. Does that mean that they end earlier? Ha!

Amelia is doing great. She's eating wonderfully. I was so nervous about breastfeeding this time since last time wasn't quite so wonderful. I had a lot of supply issues last time (I got the flu 2 weeks after C was born and my supply tanked and never fully recovered) and I was nervous the issues would repeat themselves. However, my supply is great and Amelia has overcome some of her preemie problems and is finally eating like a champ. If you tried breastfeeding your first child and for whatever reason it didn't work out - don't give up! Apparently you can have a totally different situation with your next child! We had problems in the beginning because she was SO SO SO sleepy. I would spend over an hour trying to wake her up to eat. It was miserable for a few days. But she finally started latching and eating and things have gotten much easier feeding-wise since then. I'm also much less "shy" about nursing this time. I actually nursed her in public the other day without a cover. I wouldn't normally do that, but I didn't have anything to cover myself with and my kid was hungry. Oh well!

Judd started back to work this week and it's been SO much different without him home to help. He was incredibly helpful with Caroline while he was home and I was able to get a lot more sleep. Now that he's back at work, I'm feeling really run down. I've also got a stupid head cold as of yesterday which certainly doesn't help much - but I'm surviving! I'm ready for Saturday so Judd will be home! Ha!

Amelia had her checkup two days ago and she's 7lbs 10oz! She's getting bigger everyday. We also had some newborn pictures taken when she was a week old by Jessica Rowell Photography. I'm SO happy with them!

Aren't they wonderful?! I'll add Amelia's birth story as soon as possible! I know you're all on pins and needles waiting for it, right? ;)

Have a wonderful day!
