Finally home...

Monday I left for Memphis to go to the hospital to be with Daddy. For those of you who don't know, he broke his ankle in 3 places and will have surgery soon to try and repair it. I missed work Mon, Tues, & Wed! As much guilt as I felt leaving the other tellers at the first of the month, it was so nice to see my family. I hated seeing Daddy in so much pain, though. I stayed with him on Tuesday while Mom went in to finish up some work and the poor guy was miserable. Everytime he started to doze off, the intercom in his room was blare, "ALEXIS YOU'RE NEEDED IN ROOM 941. ALEXIS YOU'RE NEEDED IN ROOM 941." There was no getting away from it. For some reason, you can't cut down the volume on them so they constantly went off all day. Not to mention the 5 jackhammers that HAD to have been right outside our window. Sometimes rest is hard to get in a hospital. But Daddy was lucky to have such sweet nurses. They really seemed to care about the quality of his comfort. Basically the plan was just comfort and pain control until the swelling goes down enough to do surgery. He will have to stay off his foot for 3 MONTHS! Hopefully the time will go by quickly for him.

I have other news that I'm anxious to post - but since it's not MY news...I'll wait and let her post it first. :)

Well I'm tired and must go to work in the morning. It's going to be a long day tomorrow. Hope you all have a great day tomorrow and a wonderful 4th of July! :)
