Decisions, Decisions.

Today I called to give our contractor my paint color for the kitchen cabinets. Black Magic - by Sherwin Williams. We were discussing everything that has come in recently and I asked about my countertops. Unfortunately, the color we had picked out was going to take 8 weeks to ship. Um, no way. So we went with choice #2. I'm not as happy with it because I'm afraid it's going to make the room too dark. But it was either risk the room being too dark, or wait 8 more weeks. Oh what the heck, I'm a risk-taker anyway. So here are the new countertops:

So - not my favorite - but definitely do-able. What do you think? Is this still okay with black cabinets, tan walls, white trim? :)

  1. I'd be inclined to go with white cabinets with granite that dark, especially if you don't have a ton of natural light to keep things bright. But I'm partial to white kitchen cabinets, anyway, so...

  2. i think it will be fine since the room is tan & the trim is white. you can always repaint cabinets if you hate it.

  4. What is your backsplash material?? As long as that's not dark you should be fine. Add some pops of white or cream on the countertops with acccessories, or even add some undercabinet lighting and it will be fine. Thanks for documenting your redos--not many bloggers do that anymore because they just want to show the dramatic after shot without showing how they got there. It's so fun!!!
