37 Weeks! Full Term!
As I sit here praying for my water to suddenly break, it occurs to me that I haven't done my 37 week post! Sorry! Well, I'm full term. Caroline could come out and play any day now, safely. All she's doing now is maturing. Her brain will continue to develop and she'll continue practicing her breathing, sucking, and swallowing skills. That's about it! She's about 6 1/2 - 7 lbs and 20-21 inches long depending. She shouldn't grow in length anymore and she won't be putting on quite as much weight as she was before.
I'm super uncomfortable, but I know this too shall pass! I've learned the hard way that "progress" means zilch. Absolute zilch. The only REAL labor signs are water breaking and longer, stronger, shorter together contractions. I've had neither. All the other signs that labor is "imminent" and "coming soon" are lies. Don't believe them! I've officially had them all - and as you can see below, I'm still very much pregnant. I've resigned myself that regardless of my dilation and effacement, I'll probably be pregnant forever. ;)
Everything is set up and waiting for her. Everything is washed and ready! Bags are mostly packed...there will be some last minute things to throw in the bag but for the most part - we're set! Car seat is installed. Cameras are charged. Now we just need a baby!
My sleep is SO totally out of whack. I guess it really doesn't matter all that much as she will probably adjust me to her sleeping schedule anyway! I sleep better when I'm in the bed by myself...(no offense, honey!) because I have so much more room. I've realized if I stay up super late and wake up late, my actual sleep is of better quality. I'll take whatever I can get these days. Whatever helps, I'll do it!
Well, I just don't have much to write about and there's not a whole lot going on right now so I leave you with my giant belly pictures. I hope it's the last one you get! Ha!
And just because I've got the same shirt on...
